I’ve organized list of a few things that I’ve bought recently from Amazon that are great for screenwriters. This list includes things that will make your writing time just a little more enjoyable. I’ve included everything from plot organizers to hoodies. Hopefully, you find these items as as useful as I do.

1. PlotFold Screenwriting Map: Plan Organize and Outline Film & TV Script Ideas Before Writing a Screenplay
Users should have a grasp on basic screenwriting structure and terms. Some industry-proven guideposts will help budding or seasoned writers populate with their own story’s world or serve as reminders to avoid any unwanted commonalities.
The 15 work pages inside build toward a bulletproof outline of up to 64 scene cards that can then easily translate to the first draft of a number of script formats or possibly function as a standalone pitch document!
This Plot Fold is fun and easy to use. It’s great for organizing your story before you start writing. I use these concepts in my Final Draft beat board before I start my scripts.
2. Writers Block When Your Imaginary Friends Stop Talking to You Mug
I love coffee mugs! I just thought this one was funny. It’s a great reminder that writing is supposed to be fun and not to take yourself too seriously.
3. Now Write! Screenwriting: Screenwriting Exercises from Today’s Best Writers and Teachers
Now Write! Screenwriting-the latest addition to the Now Write! writing guide series-brings together the acclaimed screenwriters of films like the Oscar-winning Raging Bull, Oscar- nominated Ali, era-defining blockbuster Terminator 2, musical classic Fame, hit series “Lost” “True Blood” and “The Shield,” Groundhog Day, Cape Fear, Chicken Run, Reversal of Fortune, Before Sunrise, Mystic Pizza, Indecent Proposal, and many more, to teach the art of the story.
This book has some great advice and the articles are short, sweet, and to the point.
4. Write On, Pullover Hoodie
I like to be comfortable when I write. This hoodie is like a uniform I put on to get me in the right head space.
5. Leather Desk Pad, Nonslip Suede Base, Waterproof, Multifunctional, Writing Pad, Laptop & Keyboard, Table Protector
I don’t always have a desk to write on, so I take this pad with me to parks, restaurants, and coffee shops to insure that I always have a clean and comfortable writing space. I also use it at my desk at home. I love that it’s waterproof.
6. 12 Pack Notebook Journals for Travelers, Students and Office
I love these little notebooks. I use them all of the time. Sometimes you just need to jot down some ideas and nothing feels better than pen on paper.
7. Swingline Desktop Hole Punch, Light Touch Metal Hole Puncher with Adjustable System for 2 – 7 Holes
Once I’ve edited my screenplay a few times I like to print it out and edit it on paper. I’ve learned that having a good hole puncher is worth the investment.
8. Acco Solid Brass Fasteners, 1 ¼ Inch Capacity, 100 Count
If you are going to print out your scripts make sure you have some of these fasteners to keep everything nice and organized. Make sure they are 1 1/4 inch if you buy a different brand.
9. Matte Black Forest Fountain Pen Extra Fine Nib Classic Design with Converter and Metal Pen Box Set by Hongdian
When I take notes I love writing with a good pen. This matte black fountain pen makes me feel like Jane Austen.
10. Hemingway Pencil Cup
I hate when my pens are nowhere to be found.
11. SONGMICS Laptop Desk
I love this portable desk. I take it with me everywhere.
12. Decoluce Vintage Tripod Floor Lamp
I love this lamp and old Hollywood movies. I like having a reminder of cinema history around while I write.
13. Bellaa 26287 Vintage Camera Bookend Old Style Movie Film 7 Inch
These bookends are great for organizing your screenwriting books on your desk.
14. CaféPress Screenwriter/ Director Natural Canvas Tote Bag, Reusable Shopping Bag
Great bag to carry all of your screenwriting gear, or you can use it for groceries.
15. The Coffee Break Screenwriter: Writing Your Script Ten Minutes at a Time
The writer receives guidance and tips at every stage of the often intimidating writing process with a relaxed, “ten minutes at a time” method that focuses the writer and pushes him or her forward. At each step, writers are encouraged to “Take Ten” and tackle an element of their script using the templates and tools provided. “What You’ve Accomplished” sections help writers review their progress. And “Ten-Minute Lectures” distill and demystify old school theory, allowing the writer to unblock and get writing.
This is another great book I recently purchased that fell in love with right away.
